Faith and Family Connections is a mentoring program that connects participants and their families with individuals from congregations and faith-based organizations. The program trains mentors to provide the guidance, support and hope participants need twhile they are on the path to self-sufficiency. The mentor teams provide the heart to care, the ear to listen, and the arms to embrace our participants and their families, while they create a more stable living environment.
Each mentor must pass a criminal record check, CAN (Child Abuse Neglect) screenings, attend an eight hour training course and make a one-year commitment to the program. During that year, mentors attend monthly follow-up training. Mentors are placed into teams that devote one to two hours per week with participants and their families helping them to achieve their personal goals and aspirations.
